If you're looking for a pasta dish that is kid friendly and only takes a few minutes to make, this is it! This Easy Chicken Alfredo Pasta Recipe is one of my kid's favourite meals. It's full of flavour and can be served as a main dish or a side.
What I love about this Easy Chicken Alfredo Pasta is how easy it is to adapt to what suites you. You can use any type of pasta you like in this recipe from penne, fettuccine, spiral or even spaghetti pasta. It will all turn out perfectly with this creamy alfredo sauce. You can also leave out the chicken which is what I do sometimes and serve it as a side dish and not a main.

Instructions
If your kids like that nasty packet of alfredo pasta, they will love this homemade alfredo pasta.
Mix the salt, pepper, basil, oregano, garlic and onion powder in a small bowl. Sprinkle half of the seasoning on the chicken and save the other half for the sauce.
Cook the pasta per the instructions on the packet (reserve ½ cup of pasta water).
Add 1 tablespoon butter to a large frypan on a medium heat and add the seasoned chicken. Cook the chicken until cooked through and browned (around 8-10 minutes).
Once the chicken is cooked, remove from the pan and set aside.
Using the same pan (no need to wash it), add 3 tablespoons of butter and garlic. Cook for around 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the flour to the butter and whisk until combined.
It will thicken and start to bubble. Add the rest of the seasoning.
Slowly add the milk while whisking to thicken the sauce.
Add the parmesan cheese and ½ cup of reserved pasta water and stir. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce is thick.
Add the chicken and the cooked pasta to the pan, stir through and serve.
