If you're looking for a pasta dish that is kid friendly and only takes a few minutes to make, this is it! This Easy Chicken Alfredo Pasta Recipe is one of my kid's favourite meals. It's full of flavour and can be served as a main dish or a side.
4tablespoonsbutter1 tablespoon for the chicken and 3 for the sauce
2 ½cupsmilk
3tablespoonsplain flour
1tablespoonminced garlic
¼cupshredded parmesan cheese
½cuppasta waterreserved from pasta
optional fresh parsley to top
Instructions
Mix the salt, pepper, basil, oregano, garlic and onion powder in a small bowl. Sprinkle half of the seasoning on the chicken and save the other half for the sauce.
Cook the pasta per the instructions on the packet (reserve ½ cup of pasta water).
Add 1 tablespoon butter to a large frypan on a medium heat and add the seasoned chicken. Cook the chicken until cooked through and browned (around 8-10 minutes). Once the chicken is cooked, remove from the pan and set aside.
Using the same pan (no need to wash it), add 3 tablespoons of butter and garlic. Cook for around 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the flour to the butter and whisk until combined. It will thicken and start to bubble. Add the rest of the seasoning.
Slowly add the milk while whisking to thicken the sauce.
Add the parmesan cheese and ½ cup of reserved pasta water and stir. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until the sauce is thick.
Add the chicken and the cooked pasta to the pan, stir through and serve.
You serve it with fresh parsley for some extra flavour.
