I can't get enough of these Greek Chicken Gyros! They are quick and easy to make, which makes them perfect for lunch or dinner.
I'm absolutely obsessed with this Greek Chicken Marinade! It can be used on any type of chicken pan fried, baked or grilled. You can even use it on a whole chicken baked in the oven with roast potatoes, YUM!
Ingredients
Greek Chicken Gyros
- pita bread
- chicken breast or thigh
- tzatziki dip (I buy this in the dip section of the supermarket)
- tomatoes
- cucumber
- red onion
- feta
- Optional - Hot chips (I make mine in the air fryer)
Marinade
- olive oil
- minced garlic
- greek yoghurt
- lemon juice
- dried oregano
- onion powder
- sweet paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
See the recipe card below for quantities.
Instructions
If you're adding hot chips, put them in the oven or air fryer so they will be ready by the time the chicken is cooked. Prepare the chicken breast by slicing them in half (butterflying) and slice in half again, creating 2 pieces. Bang the chicken out slightly using a rolling pin, and glad wrap covering the chicken to make them thinner and an even thickness.
Mix together all the marinade in a bowl.
Add the chicken breasts and cover them completely in the marinade.
Grill the chicken on a BBQ or fry pan until cooked though (around 6 minutes each side).
Slice the chicken in pieces.
Heat the pita bread for 20 seconds in the microwave and spread out the tzatziki dip.
Add all of your fillings.
Wrap in foil to hold it together and serve!
Top Tip
Serve with hot chips to make them fully loaded Greek Chicken Gyros or you can serve hot chips on the side sprinkled with a little feta.
