Mother’s Day Brunch Grazing Platter Box

This post is a collaboration with Woolworths

Mother’s Day will be a little different with social distancing in place. Instead of hosting my traditional Mother’s Day brunch, I thought it would be nice to do a “take away” version and create a brunch platter that I can leave on my mother’s and grandmother’s doorstep. We can then enjoy our brunch over a video call (if they can manage to work out how to navigate it lol).

This platter will be the perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day and doubles as a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift too. If you need some more gift and recipe inspiration head to the Woolworths website here. The platter only took a few minutes to assemble and costs under $25.00 to create, making it budget friendly! I selected foods that require little to no preparation, so I could simply pop them in the platter box, drop and go. You could easily switch this platter up and add items that are on sale or your loved one’s favourite foods. I recommend you start in the bakery section of Woolworths before heading to the fresh food area to select your seasonal fruits.

    Ingredients I used

    • Fresh fruit (I used berries, kiwi fruit and grapes)
    • Woolworths chocolate muffins from the bakery section
    • Woolworths croissants from the bakery section (I filled them with ham and cheese)
    • Waffles
    • White Tim Tams
    • Yoghurt
    • Woolworths white chocolate and cranberry biscuits from the bakery section
    • Woolworths mixed nuts

How to create a brunch platter box?

Firstly, you will need a suitable box or container. I recommend using one with a lid or one that can be covered in cling wrap to keep the food fresh. I found a platter box with a clear lid from a local catering store. Line the container or box with baking paper and start layering all of the ingredients in the box. Cover and deliver to the door step right away so the ingredients are fresh and ready to devour.

I hope everyone has a lovely Mother’s Day and if you create one of these fresh platters, I would love to see them! You can tag me at @ohsobusymum and @Woolworths_au.

Tell me how you plan to #cookwithmum this Mother’s Day?
