    10 Sandwich-free Lunchbox Ideas

    February 4, 2020 by ohsobusymum 1 Comment

This post is a collaboration with Woolworths

It’s time to shake up the lunchbox with these 10 easy sandwich-free ideas!

Let’s face it, no one wants to eat the same boring sandwich with the same old fillings every day. Every few days, I mix up the lunchbox and pack different options that my kids like to eat – and no sandwiches involved! Whilst I like changing up the offerings, I try to include “easy to make” or premade items to save time preparing the lunchbox each day.

Here are a few of my favourites!

    Woolworths Zucchini Slice (pre-made)

This zucchini slice is a regular on my grocery list. It’s budget-friendly, easy to slice up and send in the lunchbox. No baking required!

    Rice Crackers

I love to have a stash of rice crackers in the pantry. They are really versatile, so if we run out of bread or I want to mix it up, I send rice crackers with toppings in the lunchbox.

    Sushi

No need to buy it, sushi is super easy and affordable to make at home. You can buy everything you need to make sushi at Woolworths.

    Scrolls

Sweet or savoury scrolls are easy to make and freezer friendly. You can prepare a batch and store them in the freezer until you’re ready to use them.

    Wraps

Wraps have a longer shelf life than bread and can also be frozen, making them a perfect substitute in the lunchbox. One of my kids’ favourites are wraps rolled with fillings like sushi.

    Savoury Muffins

Savoury muffins are a great way to use up leftover vegetables that are about to reach their use-by date. Find a tasty cheesy muffin recipe by Woolworths here.

    Mini Quiche

My children love the mini bread quiches that are bite-sized and use a piece of bread as the base. You can find the recipe I use here.

    Muffin Pizzas

No need to make a pizza base, you can simply use English muffins and top them with your favourite toppings and sauce. Bake them in your oven until the cheese has melted, or for around 8 minutes. I send them in the lunchbox cold and my kids love them!

    Sandwich Sushi

Sandwich sushi is a winner in this house! You can find our favourite fillings here.

    Leftovers

If all else fails, you can pop leftovers in a thermos or serve them cold.

Now, if you’re looking for some supermarket lunchbox snack ideas, here are my top 5!

    Woolworths Gluten Free Popcorn

    Woolworths Banana Bread

    Tasty Cheese Sticks

    Macro Quinoa Puffs

    Woolworths Pikelets

I would love to hear your sandwich-free lunch box ideas!
