This chocolate cake is super easy to make, which makes it perfect for birthdays or celebrations! I like to make a batch in a square slice tin to slice up and freeze for school lunches.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 ½ cups plain flour
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 ¾ cups caster sugar
- 1 cup butter, melted
- 1 ¾ cups milk
- 4 eggs
- ½ cup cocoa
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Icing
- ¼ cup butter, softened
- ¼ cup milk
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- 3 cups icing sugar
DIRECTIONS
- Preheat oven to 18o°C and spray a cake tin with non-stick spray.
- Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl.
- Pour the prepared batter into cake tin and bake for around 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Once the cake is cool, mix all icing ingredients together and spread over cake.
