    Chicken and Bacon Meatballs {Air fryer & Oven Directions}

    January 15, 2017 by ohsobusymum 2 Comments

Let me start by saying, my air fryer is amazing! Why didn't anyone tell me how good they were? I wouldn't have waited so long to get one. Since getting THIS ONE at Christmas, I've been using it daily and sometimes a few times a day.

Why I love it so much!

    • It cooks so fast!
    • No need for oil (healthy cooking)
    • Easy to wash and use
    • Even cooking
    • No need to preheat
    • CRISPY food

One of my favourite recipes to cook in the air fryer are these chicken and bacon meatballs. These meatballs can be served on skewers (I bought some half-sized skewers from the supermarket) with pasta, rice, salad or pop them in the school lunch box.

Makes around 12-15 meatballs depending on the size.

    Ingredients

    • 500 grams chicken, minced
    • 140 grams bacon, finely chopped
    • 1 large egg
    • ½ cup breadcrumbs
    • 3 tablespoons BBQ sauce
    • 2 tablespoons crushed garlic
    • 2 tablespoons mustard
    • salt and pepper to taste

    Air Fryer Directions

    1. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix.
    2. Roll mixture into bite-sized balls and place onto air fryer basket.
    3. Cook on 180ºC for around 6 minutes, shake halfway.

    Oven Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 180ºC and line a baking tray with non-stick paper.
    2. Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix.
    3. Roll mixture into bite-sized balls and place onto the oven tray.
    4. Bake for around 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.

Do you use mustard powder or a jar mustard? Any suggestions as to which if it is jar?
