    Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

    Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Did you know you can make the viral Brooki Bakehouse Style of Chunky Chocolate Chip cookies or New York Style Chunk Cookies at home using this recipe? They are actually really easy to make using just a few basic ingredients.

Brooki Bakehouse Style Cookie Recipe 2

If you can't get to Brisbane to try the original viral cookies, you can easily make my version of cookies at home. These Chunky Chocolate Chip Cookies are so easy to make that even the kids can help you make them!

Brooki Bakehouse Style Cookie Recipe step 10

The original New York style chunky cookies have nuts in them, but I prefer to bake them without them. If you do want to add nuts, feel free to add ½ cup of walnuts to the recipe.

Brooki Bakehouse Style Cookie Recipe Ingredients

    Ingredients

    • butter
    • brown sugar
    • egg
    • vanilla extract
    • plain flour
    • corn flour
    • baking soda
    • milk chocolate

See the recipe card below for quantities.

    Instructions

Brooki Bakehouse Style Cookie Recipe step 1

    Step 1
Preheat fan forced oven to 180°c and line a baking tray with baking paper. Using a large bowl and electric mixer, beat together butter and sugar until combined.

Brooki Bakehouse Style Cookie Recipe step 2

    Step 2
Add the vanilla and egg. Beat until just combined.

Brooki Bakehouse Style Cookie Recipe step 4

    Step 3
Add plain flour, cornflour, and baking soda and mix on low speed until cookie dough forms.

    Step 4
Add the chocolate and mix for 20 seconds or until combined.

Brooki Bakehouse Style Cookie Recipe step 7

    Step 5
Using a tablespoon, scoop out the cookie dough (around 3 tablespoons or 70 grams per cookie), roughly roll with hands and place on the tray, leaving room for the cookies to spread.

Brooki Bakehouse Style Cookie Recipe step 7

    Step 6
When rolling, leave the cookie dough balls rough, so that you get the perfect chunk cookie. More pushing the dough together and not rolling.

Brooki Bakehouse Style Cookie Recipe step 13

    Step 7
Bake cookies for 14 minutes or until golden brown.

Brooki Bakehouse Style Cookie Recipe step 15

    Step 8
You can serve warm or allow them to cool. Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

These cookies come out thick, chunky with a chewy centre and trust me, they really are the BEST chunky cookies you'll make.

Brooki Bakehouse Style Cookie Recipe step 17

    Top Tip

Don't roll the dough into perfectly smooth round balls. You will want to make a rough dough ball by pushing it together and not rolling.

    Storage

Airtight Container - Once baked, you can store these baked cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Freezer - You can freeze the cookie dough for up to 6 months in the freezer. I recommend pre rolling the dough and then freezing them in a container or ziplock bag. Allow to defrost prior to baking.

This recipe caught my eye because I love a good chunky chocolate chip cookie, but I hadn’t found one that was foolproof. I made the cookies and it was so easy, and they came out exactly as I’d hoped! My whole family loved them and they were gone within 24 hours.

Tried these and I love them. They definitely filled my craving in the best yummy way. Can’t say enough good things 🥰 I will definitely be making the recipe again x

Note: I reduced sugar and needed a bit more time to bake in the centre but other than that, PERFECT!!

Honestly, the easiest, most consistent choc chunk cookies recipe I have ever made. These DO NOT last more than a day or two in our house and my daughter always asks to make them!!!!!!!
