    Mini Jatz Caramel Freckles

Okay, here's the ultimate sweet + salty snack, with a gooey caramel centre AND 100's and 1000's. The best part? They take minutes to make.

I first spotted these on Taste, and they used plain chocolate buttons, so I levelled it up using caramel chocolate.

They're bite-sized, they're ideal for parties, after-school treats, or even a sneaky late-night fridge raid. Kids will go wild for the 100's and 1000's (and let's be real, so will the adults). Best of all, you only need three ingredients and less than 15 minutes, which makes them a stress-free crowd pleaser.

    Mini Jatz Caramel “Freckles” 1

    Ingredients

    • mini Jatz biscuits
    • block of caramel chocolate
    • 100's & 1000's

See the recipe card below for quantities.

    Instructions

    Mini Jatz Caramel

    Step 1
Sprinkle 100's & 1000's all over a lined baking tray.

    Mini Jatz Caramel

    Step 2
Lay out the chocolate squares on top of the sprinkles, then pop them into the oven at 150°C for about 2 minutes (just enough for the chocolate to get melty).

    Mini Jatz Caramel

    Step 3
Pull them out of the oven and gently press a Mini Jatz onto each square.

    Step 4
Slide the tray into the fridge (or freezer if you're impatient like me) for 10 minutes until they're set.

This is such a fun recipe to make with kids. They'll love sprinkling the 100's and 1000's and pressing the Jatz into the gooey caramel chocolate. Minimal mess, maximum fun and you'll end up with a tray full of rainbow happiness that everyone will love.

    Top Tip

Don't push down too hard when placing the biscuits on top of the melted chocolate.

    Storage

    • Fridge: Store your Mini Jatz Caramel "Freckles" in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. The chocolate stays firm, and the Jatz keep their crunch.
    • Freezer: These also freeze beautifully! Layer them between sheets of baking paper in a container and freeze for up to 1 month. Just let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving (if you can wait that long 😉).
    • Room Temp: If it's a cool day, you can keep them in an airtight container at room temperature for 2-3 days. Any longer and the chocolate may soften or the Jatz could lose their crispness.

✨ Pro Tip: If you're making these for a party, prep them the night before and keep them chilled. They'll be perfectly set and ready to disappear in minutes.
