    Half & Half Cob Loaf


    Can you actually name anything better than a cob loaf… with TWO flavours happening at once? This one's half cheese + bacon, and half spinach.

    Half & Half Cob Loaf

    This Half & Half Cob Loaf is the ultimate snack or party treat of soft, crusty bread filled with two delicious flavours side by side. One half is cheesy bacon heaven, the other is creamy spinach with a hint of french onion.

    Perfect for sharing… or not. 😉

    Spinach flavour recipe:

    Ingredients

    Bacon and cheese flavour recipe:

    • 👉🏻100 grams diced bacon
    • 👉🏻½ brown onion
    • 👉🏻½ teaspoon minced garlic
    • 👉🏻Half a block of cream cheese (110 grams)
    • 👉🏻Half a tub of sour cream
    • 👉🏻Grated cheese to top

    Spinach flavour recipe:

    • 👉🏻100 grams frozen spinach (microwave 1 minute + drain well)
    • 👉🏻½ packet French onion soup mix
    • 👉🏻Half a block of cream cheese (110 grams)
    • 👉🏻Half a tub of sour cream
    • 👉🏻Grated cheese to top

    Instructions

    Step 1
    Fry up the onion, garlic and bacon until golden.

    Step 2
    Stir through the sour cream and cream cheese.

    Step 3
    Cook spinach + soup mix for a minute.

    Step 4
    Stir in cream cheese and sour cream.

    Step 5
    Spoon each of the fillings into each side of the cob loaf.

    Step 6
    Top with cheese and bake at 180°c for 15 minutes.

    Top Tip

    Serve with some vegetables and extra bread stock on the side, as you can never get enough bread in a cob loaf.

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 cob loaf

    Bacon and cheese flavour recipe:

    • 100 grams diced bacon
    • ½ brown onion
    • ½ teaspoon minced garlic
    • ½ block cream cheese 110 grams
    • ½ tub sour cream
    • ½ cup grated cheese for top

    Spinach flavour recipe:

    • 100 grams frozen spinach microwave 1 minute + drain well
    • ½ packet french onion soup mix
    • ½ block cream cheese 110 grams
    • ½ tub sour cream
    • ½ cup grated cheese for top

    Instructions
     

    Bacon and cheese flavour

    • Fry up the onion, garlic and bacon until golden. Stir through the sour cream and cream cheese. Spoon into one side of the cob and sprinkle cheese on top.

    Spinach flavour

    • Cook spinach + soup mix for a minute, then stir in cream cheese and sour cream. Spoon into the other side of the cob and sprinkle with cheese.
    • Bake at 180°C for around 15 minutes or until the cheese on top is golden brown.
