2 Ingredient Cupcake Hack You NEED to Try!

Okay, I know we all love a good hack, especially when it actually works and the kids love it too. So let me tell you about this little gem of a recipe that I’ve been making for years... and it only needs TWO ingredients. Yep, you heard me right – just two! No eggs. No oil. No butter. No fuss. 🙌🏻

    2 Ingredient Cupcake Hack

    Ingredients

    • 1 Woolies vanilla cake mix
    • 1 cup of fizzy drink (I use lemonade or Sprite!)

    Instructions

    2 Ingredient Cupcake Hack

    Step 1
Preheat the oven to 180°C (fan-forced) and line a cupcake tray with paper cases.

    Step 2
    In a bowl, mix together
the vanilla cake mix and 1 cup of Sprite (or any fizzy drink you’re using) until smooth. Don't overmix.

    Step 3
Spoon the mixture evenly into the cupcake cases – about ⅔ full – and pop them in the oven.

    Step 4
Bake for 10–15 minutes or until cooked through and golden. Let them cool a little... then eat and enjoy!

    Some fun flavour ideas:

💛 Chocolate cake mix + Fanta = Jaffa cupcakes
🍒 Vanilla cake mix + creaming soda for a hint of fairy floss vibes
🟢 Lemon cake mix + Solo or Lift for a zingy twist
🥤 Coke or Pepsi + chocolate cake mix for a rich, cola chocolate flavour

The options are endless; if it’s fizzy, you can try it. I’m planning to experiment with raspberry lemonade next!

    Storage

    Room Temperature:
Pop them in an airtight container and store them at room temp for up to 3 days. Keep the container out of direct sunlight and heat.

    Fridge:
If it’s a warmer day or you've added icing, you can keep them in the fridge in a sealed container for up to 5 days. Just let them come to room temp before eating so they’re soft and fluffy again.

    Freezer:
Yes, you can freeze them! Freeze un-iced cupcakes by wrapping them individually in cling wrap or baking paper, then placing them in a ziplock bag or airtight container. They’ll keep for up to 2 months. To serve, just thaw at room temp.
