I found myself standing in the middle of Arendelle ❄️ (yep, the actual World of FROZEN) watching my girls ride their favourite ride for the third time in a row with no line. And I thought, “This might just be the best Disney park yet.” 🙌🏻

✈️ Getting There – With As Little Fuss As Possible
We flew direct from Brisbane to Hong Kong with Cathay Pacific, and it was smooth sailing (well, flying). Cathay was in a different class for us and by far the best airline we’ve flown. The food, comfort and entertainment were all excellent, and for the first time we flew an overnight flight and said we will always do that flight if we can.

Where We Stayed - Disney's Hollywood Hotel
We stayed at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, which was all kinds of fun and on theme, at around $266 AUD per night. The kids (okay, us adults too) absolutely loved the Marvel-themed room, and then we switched it up with a Mickey & Friends room for something a bit more classic.
The hotel has free shuttles to the park (it’s literally a 10-minute ride), and there’s also a pool with a waterslide, which got a big thumbs up from our Disney Fam. You can also visit the other Disney hotels nearby and use their facilities too, which is very handy
🍽️ There are a couple of food options at the hotel, and the buffet breakfast at Ink & Plate was great – pancakes, eggs, noodles, fruit, pastries (and yes, coffee… very important! 😂), so everyone started the day happy. We did find the other food choices at our hotel a bit tricky, though, especially with a fussy eater in tow, so we ended up heading over to the Explorer’s Lodge to grab some quick service options like pizza, which worked perfectly for us.
We also had an amazing dinner at The Archivist, the Marvel-themed restaurant in the hotel! The atmosphere was so much fun, and the food (and cocktails!) were seriously delicious and totally on theme.
We took a little wander over to check out the other Disney resorts, Disneyland Hotel and Explorer’s Lodge, and wow, each one has its own vibe and food options. It’s about a 10-minute walk between them (or you can jump on the shuttle if you’re tired from all the walking). The best part? No matter where you’re staying, you can use all the facilities across all the resorts.

🏰The Park – So Much Magic, So Little Waiting
I’m going to say it: Hong Kong Disneyland might be the most chill Disney park we’ve been to. There’s no stressy FastPass business or needing to plan your day like other theme parks. You just show up and go with the flow (my kind of holiday).
We went on weekdays, and the wait times? Non-existent. The longest we queued was 10 minutes. My kids got to ride their favourite again. And again. And again. It was the kind of day when you actually enjoy being at a theme park.
💡 I honestly think Hong Kong Disneyland is the perfect theme park for anyone new to travelling or even solo parents. It’s so easy to navigate and way less overwhelming than the big USA parks! Everything just feels more relaxed, safe and manageable.
❄️ World of Frozen (Real-Life Arendelle)
If you’ve got Frozen fans in your house (or maybe you are the Frozen fan 😅), this is a MUST. The new World of Frozen is the first and biggest of its kind, and it’s honestly like you’re at the real Arendelle.
It’s like stepping into the movie. Even though my girls are a bit older now, they absolutely adored it as Frozen fans. Think themed rides, beautiful scenery, and all the magical touches Disney does so well.
My Tips!
✨ Go on a weekday and avoid holidays if you want to skip the crowds.
✨ Head straight to the World of Frozen as soon as the park opens – trust me, you’ll thank me later!
✨ Think about getting Premier Access for Momentous: Party in the Night Sky. Honestly, it’s the most magical show I’ve seen — I even teared up watching it!
🧃 Pack snacks! Things like 2-minute noodles, chips, muesli bars, crackers — anything easy. There aren’t any convenience stores or supermarkets nearby (Hong Kong Disneyland is on its own island, a bit out of the way), so you can’t just duck out and grab something. I was SO glad I packed snacks because we definitely needed them, especially for the kids between meals or after long park days!
🏙️ Exploring the Rest of Hong Kong
We spent the rest of our trip exploring Hong Kong, and it surprised me in the best way. It’s clean, organised, super easy to get around, and just really family-friendly. We used the Octopus Card for transport, and it made trains and buses a breeze. Also, the food? Incredible. So many options!
🌟 Would We Go Again?
It’s a YES from us! This trip had the perfect mix of Disney magic + city exploring + relaxing hotel fun. If you’re tossing up which Disney to try, or if the U.S. ones feel a bit too much right now, Hong Kong Disneyland is such a brilliant option.
If you’ve got questions or want to know more, feel free to ask. I’m more than happy to help or talk Disney!
We travelled as guests of Cathay Pacific.
