    Nutella Drops

I have a major weakness when it comes to biscuits and it's jam drops. The bonus with making them, my kids don't like them! It's great because I don't have to share, but I find I eat way too many. I was making a batch yesterday and my kids asked if I could put Nutella in them instead and I thought what a great idea. I added Nutella to half of the batch just to test them and they turned out perfectly!

    Ingredients

    • 250g salted butter, softened
    • (1 cup) caster sugar
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla essence
    • 2 eggs
    • 380g (2 ½ cups) self-raising flour
    • Plain flour, to dust
    • ½ cup Nutella

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 180°C and line 2 baking trays with non-stick baking paper.
    2. Using an electric beater, beat the butter, sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl until pale and creamy.
    3. Add the eggs and beat until combined.
    4. Sift flour over the mixture and mix until combined.
    5. Roll teaspoonfuls of mixture into balls (you might need to lightly flour your hands for this step).
    6. Place on the trays about 5cm apart (allow enough space for them to spread).
    7. Use a lightly floured finger or back of a whisk to make an indentation in the centre of each ball.
    8. Spoon or pipe (piping is much easier) ½ teaspoon of Nutella into the centre of each biscuit.
    9. Bake for 12- 15 minutes or until the biscuits are cooked through and lightly golden.
    10. Set aside to cool completely
