Ingredients

Bowls

  • 500 grams beef mince
  • 1 brown onion diced
  • 2 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dark soy
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ cup water

To Serve

  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 1 carrots shredded
  • 1 cucumber sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • ¼ cup shallots

Instructions

  • Mix all the sauce ingredients together in a mixing bowl.
  • Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and drizzle in the sesame oil. Cook the beef mince for approximately 6 to 8 minutes, using a spatula to break it apart as it cooks. Ensure the beef is fully cooked and there is no pink colour remaining.
  • Add the onion and minced garlic to the pan, cooking for 1 to 2 minutes until they soften and become fragrant.
  • Pour in the sauce mixture and cook for 3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken and coat the ingredients.
  • Serve over cooked rice with a side of shredded carrot and sliced cucumber. Garnish with chopped shallots and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
