Homemade Taco Seasoning (bulk recipe included)

My kids absolutely LOVE tacos at the moment, so I thought I would make up a bulk batch of this taco seasoning to try and they loved it! I’m trying to save money at the moment and get my weekly shopping budget under $150 per week, so I’ll be sharing a heap of recipes like this where you can make items in bulk and store them.

Now, I know not everyone likes to cook in bulk, so I also included a recipe for one serving along with a bulk recipe that will make 18 servings.

Homemade Taco Seasoning

  • 1 tablespoon chilli powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes

BULK RECIPE Makes around 18 serves

  • 6 tablespoons chilli powder
  • 9 teaspoons ground cumin
  • 6 teaspoons sea salt
  • 6 teaspoons black pepper
  • 3 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 3 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 3 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 ½  teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 ½ teaspoons red pepper flakes

  1. Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container.

Use 2-3 tablespoons of seasoning per 500 grams of meat with 1/2 cup of water.

Cook meat, add seasoning along with water and allow to simmer for 5 minutes until the mix has thickened.
