If you have younger kids, here is a little insight If you have younger kids, here is a little insight to teenagers. You’ll suddenly become a taxi service dropping off and picking up early mornings and late nights.

Sometimes it’s for sports, shopping centre drop off, friends houses and other times it’s just because they have called and asked to be picked up late at night. I’ve told my girls that they can call or message us at anytime and we will always be there to pick them up without questions. I’d rather them know that they can rely on us, over making other decisions that might not be the best, because of the fear of getting in trouble.

So here I am, picking up my drunk teenager in my pj’s just because she asked. Thankfully, she’s now in bed and I’m secretly hoping she has a lovely hangover tomorrow when were being extra loud with home renos. We might have to play that baby shark song over and over early morning. 😂

Homemade sushi rolls for school lunches. Sushi ma Homemade sushi rolls for school lunches.

Sushi making instructions 👇🏻

- Cook sushi rice as per instructions on the packet. I cook mine in the Thermomix using 400 grams sushi rice and 1L of water. Cook on varoma for 20 minutes.

- Allow rice to cool for around 15/20 minutes and add 1 teaspoon of sushi seasoning (I don’t follow the instructions because it’s quite strong and we don’t like it). If you skip using the sushi seasoning, the rice will be very plain tasting, so just add a small amount.

- Lay out the “sushi seaweed” on a sushi mat shiny side down. Big tip is to cover the mat in glad wrap to make it easier to roll.

- Grab a small bowl of water to dip your fingers in to handle the rice. It will stop it from sticking.

- Using your hands dipped in the water, press down rice on the seaweed around 1cm thick. Make sure you leave 2cm on one end to seal it once rolled. You don’t want the rice/filling too thick or it will be hard to roll. (I’ve added a photo to show how thick I make it).

- Add your fillings (I’ll put the tuna recipe below).

- Start rolling the sushi mat slowly keeping your hands on each end and holding it firmly. Continue to roll holding it firm until the end.

- Place sushi with the sealed side down and cut to desired size or you could just cut in half for a hand roll.

🍣 FILLINGS 🍣

Tuna filling recipe - I use a tin of tuna in spring water with 1/2 cup of Kewpie mayo and a good seasoning of salt and pepper (it’s really good for sandwiches too).

Crispy Chicken - I cook it in the airfryer for 10 minutes.

It’s best made fresh or the rolls will go soggy. I normally make the rice and chop up the fillings the day before and store them in the fridge. I just take them out in the morning and make up the rolls. Each roll takes under a minute, so they are quick and easy to make.

You can buy everything you need from @woolworths_au . It’s in the Asian food section all together which makes it easier to find.

Oh lord! I’ve caused quite a storm over on my Fa Oh lord! I’ve caused quite a storm over on my Facebook page by sharing a post saying I’ll be locking up my alcohol in this Kmart locker from my teens. 😂 Apparently I’m causing life long trust issues and they will be damaged through to their adulthood. Clearly a lot of them don’t have teenagers. 😂What’s wrong the internet lately? I can’t even post a photo cooking my husband dinner without it being an issue or mentioning that he cleaned the house. 😂 Has anyone else noticed this lately? Is there a full moon or something I should know about?
