I put up a story on Instagram showing a few things I put in my dishwasher and my followers went crazy over it. I know, who would have thought a dishwasher does more than just washing dishes lol. As promised, I have put together blog post and included all the things I put in my dishwasher.
Firstly, I’m not sure if it’s 100% safe to be putting any of these in a dishwasher. I recommend that you follow your dishwasher manual, but I like to live life on the wild side, so I ignore all of these and basically pop anything in that will fit. Luckily my kids don’t fit or they would be bathed in there too. Don’t stress guys! That’s just a joke (I think).
Anyway, back to the list of things I pop in the dishwasher to spruce up and give a good clean.
I have noticed since putting the sponges in the dishwasher, they last a lot longer and they always smell clean.
I use mine to clean pots and pans, so it’s always gross. It comes out like new when I pop it in the dishwasher each night.
Toothbrush Holder and Toothbrushes
Our toothbrush holder is always covered in tooth paste, so it goes in once a week.
This is a strange one, right? I pull all the hair out, give them a rinse off and pop them in about once a week.
I have since upgraded my oven to a 90cm size and now my rangehood filter won’t fit and I’m devastated. It’s such an easy way to clean them and get rid of all the grease. I recommend you do this once a fortnight and to put them on a separate wash due to the amount of grease.
Lunch Cold Bags
I do pop mine in the dishwasher every now and then, but I still prefer to use the washing machine. I find they come out a little cleaner and smell better in the washing machine over the dishwasher.
Another thing I can no longer pop in mine due to the size of my oven, but with my old oven, I’d pop these in once a fortnight to keep them clean and grease-free.
Fridge Racks, Shelving and Draws
I told you I put everything in the dishwasher! Same goes when I clean out my fridge once a fortnight. If it fits, it goes in.
This goes in every few days because my kids like to spill food in there and see how hard and crispy the food goes with each zap. I don’t rinse it off first, and it comes out shiny and clean.
I’m sure there are a few more things I have missed, so feel free to let me know what you put in your dishwasher and remember, I won’t be held reasonable for anything you destroy in the process lol.
